Fergus in Silhouette in the Forest

During our walks I have taken many photos and video clips of Fergus, and as usual some are fine, while most aren’t that great. At least results are instant, not like the old days where you had to wait a couple of weeks to see how your handiwork turned out.

There is a bit on our woodland walk where the trail runs close to the edge of the forest where it borders the neighbouring fields. There’s a part where there is a bike trail that begins at the fence, comes down and cuts across the walking trail.

On occasion we have stopped there and looked up and seen folk on their bikes getting ready to travel down. Since they are standing at the edge of the darker forest, with a field and sky as backdrop, the people have appeared in silhouette. I had thought it would make a great photo with the trees, bike riders and bicycle wheels merging together in a unique black tangle against the light of the sky.

However I haven’t taken any as I wasn’t sure what the bike people would make of me photographing them, as in order for it to be natural and to capture the moment, I couldn’t really ask them as the moment would be lost.

However recently when there was no one there, Fergus went up to investigate and he looked great in silhouette and I was able to capture some nice tree lined images of him, one of which now adorns my living room wall and phone screen saver.

See what you think….!
